Christmas Presents

So, does anyone else have a child that's really hard to buy for? I'm lucky enough to have two! My oldest, and my middle. The youngest is easy, anything Thomas the Train, Toy Story, or Cars related and he's happy. The oldest, wants as many expensive presents as you can possibly buy him. And, it better be computer, music, or game related.

So, this year, with all the fighting they do over the Wii and the XBOX, we bought them each PSP's. Trying to buy games was ridiculous! One only wants fighting games, and the other is hard to pick for. He doesn't like fighting games, doesn't like driving games, and I couldn't find any Hannah Montana, or High School Musical type games for him. Hopefully he likes the ones that were picked out. I also bought them each a hat from RUE 21 because they discovered when we went school shopping this year that they love hats. I got them each an AXE Body spray gift set from Wal-Mart, and the oldest the Michael Jackson/Cirque de Soleil CD because he loves MJ. The middle one got the latest Wimpy Kid book, Cabin Fever.

The youngest got a PSP, 2 games to go along with it, one of Hallmark's interactive reading toys, a Toy Story toothbrush set, and a Toy Story bathtime set. We are also going to get him a bike since his brothers will each get an extra present from their dad, so that he has the same amount. I am so not looking forward to the fight that will start because Jake got one more present! They don't seem to get that he got one extra to make up for getting presents from one less person. But, I digress.

Joey reads this, so I won't tell the last thing I got him....he already got one of his presents, and the joint present is arriving sometime today. I will say that I think he is really going to like this one and I had to buy it when I saw it. Hopefully his mom likes what she is getting too. The parents and the in-law is really hard to buy for!

But, my lunch is about over. Leave me a comment and tell me what you're buying for Christmat! And, if you haven't already, check out my two previous posts for some money-saving ideas!

Day 2 of my blogging adventure :)

Well, so far today, I've purchased web hosting, gotten signed up for more affiliates, and requested The Pixelista to make me a character image for my blog so that I can base a website about that. Illustrations...so not my thing! Once that is done, I'll be working on creating a layout and moving everything over to Wordpress. I'm pretty excited, but this is much more work than I thought it would be. It gives me more respect for the other bloggers who do this! Luckily, now, there is a LOT of information out there about how to blog, when to blog, where to blog, etc. Now, back to my regularly scheduled program - work. I'll write more later. Thanks for reading!

Getting started with a coupon blog

So...

Why did no one tell me how hard it is to get started with a coupon blog? I save money all the time, and already spend so much time scouring the internet for deals that make sense and that I can use, as well as clipping coupons, and organizing my coupon binder....not to mention all the times I hear "mama" in any given day/night! Plus, I work a full-time job. Yeah...this is gonna be fun! I didn't want to spend time with my monsters anyway right? But, needs must when the devil drives.

So, my adventure today started with trying to get AdSense set up on my blog. Apparently I don't have enough "content" on my blog for them to allow me to have any ads on here. So, now to add to my very long list of things to do, I've got to find a way to talk more on my blog. Have I mentioned that I'm the queen of the run on sentence? If not, I probably should have. Bless you for reading this far! Now, I'm trying to get affiliates set up so that if by chance someone happens by my blog, they will maybe click on a link that might help me feed the three horses who are currently masquerading as my children.

Allow me to tell you a little more about those horses. My 13 year old is quickly becoming the bane of my existence. Don't get me wrong, I love the child more than life itself, but if the attitude doesn't stop, one of us may not make it to 2012! I'm the horrible mom who moved him away from the girlfriend he couldn't live without to sunny Jacksonville FL (Hello? Beach? Girls in bikinis? Nope, not good enough for my kid...he wants to be back in the mountains with everyone bundled up for winter) So after that experience went all to pieces with his attitude and the problems we kept having, we moved closer to home and closer to family. Did that make him happy? He's now only 90 minutes from the girl he spent all his time talking to in Florida. Nope...once again, I screwed it up. Now they've broken up, she's dating someone else, and he spends all his time on facebook trying to "win her back" in between yelling at everyone who comes within 50ft of him and anyone who is married to me and is his stepfather.

My 11 year old used to be Mr. Sunny, always happy, always friendly, and the social director of the town. Now, all I hear is "freaking" this and "motherfreaker" that...I swear I'm going to lose my mind. The attitude of the 13 year old is definitely rubbing off on that one! And the poor middle child...boy does he act like it! If he isn't getting beat on by the older brother, he's the one doing the beating on the younger one, which then makes the older one beat on him even more. He is getting more into clubs at school though, he's recently joined cooking club and homework club, and now wants to join Shag Dancing after school. He is also my little couponer. He watches Extreme Couponing OnDemand since he's not awake when it comes on, and helps find and clip coupons with me. He also loves going to the store and helping with the haul. He's the first to tell everyone what we got and how much we saved.

My 6 year old is definitely "Mommy's Boy". He'd still be attached at the hip if he could be. He spends all weekend telling me how much he missed me the prior week at work and all he talks about is "Mommy and him time". However, if he doesn't have one of his brothers to play with, he is not happy! He idolizes the oldest one, and frequently tells how mean the middle one is to him. Poor baby. He was supposed to be my girl, and still says that if I really want one, he'll put on a dress and be my little girl. So cute. He is in Kindergarten which makes me feel really old, although, nowhere near as old as having an 8th grader makes me feel!

This feels like kind of an abrupt ending, but I do have to get back to coding the website at work...a Website Administrators work is never done...then I get to go home and work on actually doing my own website, although The Pixelista's design is pretty cool!

About me!

Hi! I'm Stacey, also known as "mama" to my 8th grader, 6th grader, and Kindergartner. I work full time, while my husband does the "stay-at-home dad" thing. I had my time at home with the kids...now he gets to bond. But, without having that second income, couponing is a necessity!
